Potential Job Action - Information on Accessing Updates

Dear parents and guardians:

On behalf of the faculty and administration, we would like to thank all our families who attended last night's event to meet our faculty and drop off their children's school supplies for the upcoming school year.

During our ‘Meet the Faculty’ event, we received numerous inquiries from parents regarding information related to the potential job action involving teachers. Many of these questions pertained to how parents/guardians will be notified should job action take place. At the time this message was composed and issued this evening (6:00 PM), there was no announcement of any job action that would delay the start of the school year from either the Teacher Employer Bargaining Association (TEBA) or the Alberta Teachers’ Association (ATA). Albert Lacombe Catholic Elementary School continues its preparations for the start of the 2025–26 school year, focusing on providing high-quality learning experiences and a welcoming environment for all students. Our faculty looks forward to welcoming our students and their families back to school beginning Tuesday, September 2nd for the new school year.

However, as things may change quickly, our School Division has established an information-sharing protocol, where they will share information promptly as it becomes available. This protocol includes the following:

• Website Updates: GSACRD Labour Update will be updated regularly.

• Direct Notifications: Families, students, and staff will be informed through School Messenger as soon as changes arise. 

We encourage families to stay connected through our School Division's website and Division messages for the latest updates.
